Permit to Construct, or Authorization to Construct

This is the final step in the permit process.

Once a permit to construct, or an authorization to construct is granted, then work on the OSSF or septic system may begin.

It is important to note, as a homeowner or business owner, that inspections do not guarantee the system is properly installed. Any changes to the plans must be approved before they are done. Often installers will make changes to a system installation, not realizing that moving a tank impacts how the pipes in the system act, when the pumps come on. Any change in the system installation must be approved by both the design and the regulatory authority that issued the plans.
